You Serve(d) The Nation; We Serve YOU!
We love our military/veterans, first responders, and medical personnel.
As a US Army combat veteran and a mental health provider, I can certainly understand what you might be feeling and experiencing. My wishes, when I brainstormed and imagined this practice in my head, were (and still are) to establish (and MAINTAIN) a place where we can hold safe-space for you and where you can feel as though you are surrounded by people who "get" you. I invite you to work with people who can relate to YOU!

The Story of SOBT Therapy, LLC
"Imagine waking up every morning feeling like you can take on the world. How great does that feel?" I spent 24 years of my adult life in the U.S. Army. While PROUDLY serving in the Army as a leader in different levels, I learned that mental health is paramount for achieving overall good health. Once nearing the end of my successful career, I realized that I wanted to continue to support in a different capacity and THAT is when I learned that I wanted to have a career in the field of mental health. After I retired honorably from the Army, I earned my master's degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling with a concentration in Crisis & Trauma Counseling as well as a concentration in Military Culture & Families. While I completed my hours as an intern and early in my career as a therapist, I was made aware of treatment models (Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, etc.) about which I became intrigued. Seeing how effective they are, I moved forward with seeking and getting formal training in them as well as applying them when I worked with my clients. Similarly, I recalled the impact my work as a leader in the Army (specifically as a commander) had on soldiers; at that time, I decided that I wanted to do the same thing in the mental health field. I attended a supervisor course and earned the authority to provide clinical supervision in the State of Colorado.
I’ve had the HONOR to serve as a mental health professional even prior to when the COVID-19 was officially recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic, however, my beliefs about the role that mental health plays in overall health were once again confirmed as I provided outpatient mental health services during the pandemic. In early 2021, I began to put my thoughts and feelings into action and then (after having to clear some obstacles along the way as I experiences them too. I'm not exempt merely because I'm a therapist :-) ) by May 2022, the doors to SOBT Therapy, LLC were opened in the Denver Metro area. I began to build our team (the exceptional team of professionals that you see before you on our website) at SOBT Therapy, LLC. Finally my, then dream, became my vision and the vision for SOBT Therapy, LLC.
At this time, I am conducting training, education, and on-the-job experience in addiction counseling (towards becoming a Licensed Addiction Counselor) at the Colorado School for Family Therapy.
