It is my honor to be one of the providers at SOBT Therapy, LLC. I get to work alongside a group of experienced and empathetic therapists while I do that which is my passion, helping others.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, while completing the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), from Columbus State University, Georgia. I received my Master of Science in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling with a concentration in Trauma and Crisis Counseling and a concentration in Military Culture and Families from Walden University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a license issued by the state of Colorado. In addition, I am a National Certified Counselor - NCC. Also, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate. That means that I'm currently working (under the supervision of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist supervisor) towards a license to practice independently in Colorado as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Prior to becoming a mental health professional and while serving in the Army as a commissioned officer and an enlisted soldier, I earned the title of Certified Master Resilience Trainer (MRT) and conducted many hours of teaching Army service members, civilians, and family members evidence-based skills that build and reinforce resiliency, “the ability to persist in the face of challenges and to bounce back from adversity.” I also enjoy giving back to the community. Volunteerism has provided me the opportunity to work with children from a few weeks old to 17 years of age. Moreover, I have visited many different countries and states, which has led to my experience of working with people of various backgrounds - different races, ethnicities, ages, genders, religions, socioeconomic status, indigenous heritage, national origin, and sexual orientations.

I am passionate about being a helping professional and helping people. I understand the importance of creating a supportive environment which facilitates healthy relationships. My approach includes assisting individuals identify thoughts that lead to behavior that might result in adverse outcomes and poor coping habits. Further, my goal is to restore individuals, couples, and families to a better level of functioning and to help family members achieve a point where they are mentally thriving. Moreover, I am skilled at helping clients safely navigate through stressors, trauma, and crises that might surface in life. An advocate for social change and social justice is what I am; I'm, most certainly, affirming and I strongly encourage the practice of inclusion from myself, the other providers, and the staff. As such, I aspire to engage in full-time work at identifying (and promoting the change of) systemic issues that perpetuate unjust treatment of individuals.

Physical and emotional fitness as well as selfcare is also of much importance to me. My hobbies include bodybuilding, running, cycling, hiking, going for peaceful and quiet walks, meditation, outdoor activities, enjoying a good movie, dining out, festivals, family-oriented outings and shows where I can spend time with my family.
