How much does therapy cost?

Our rates vary depending on the type of therapy - individual vs couple/family therapy.  Sessions are $125.00 (individual) and $155.00 (couple/family) per 45 to 50-min session.

Do you take insurance?

Of course!  We are able to bill directly to Aetna, Medicaid, Cigna/Evernorth, United Healthcare/Rocky Mountain Health Plans/Optum.  In addition, we certainly can provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your health insurance provider for partial or whole reimbursement.

Do you use a sliding scale?

Yes! We have a sliding scale.

Do you offer a discount?

Yes! We certainly do.  Our discounted rates are $95 for a 45 to 50-minute individual therapy session and $125 for couples/family therapy sessions that are 45 to 50 minutes in length.

Do you consult with other providers?  Are there other services that you provide besides therapy sessions and Zumbini classes?

We are happy to do anything that is within the scope of our role, training, and experience as well as the limitations mandated by the law to assist you as you strive to reach your therapeutic goals.  If we conduct consultations (following your request and written authorization) with other providers outside of SOBT Therapy, LLC, we charge you a fee of $95 per clinical hour.  Rates for phone calls to schools are prorated.

We also provide other services such as type letters for emotional support animal (ESA), letters for disability claims, monthly reports, etc.  Feel free to call SOBT Therapy, LLC's main number to ask for additional information.  Those services start at a rate of $90 for up to one clinical hour.  Unfortunately, those are out-of-pocket expenses as insurance companies do not cover those services.

What are acceptable methods of payment?

Payments are made the day services are rendered.  We accept all major credit cards and HSA cards.

Do you require prior notice for cancellations and/or rescheduling?  What happens if I don't show up for my session or if don't cancel my appointment?

We ask that you notify your provider directly if you need to cancel your session at least 24 hours in advance to your scheduled session.  If your scheduled session is on a Monday, a day after a holiday, or a day that SOBT Therapy, LLC isn't officially open for business, you will need to contact your provider directly by the last business day prior to your session.

Because we are committed to providing exceptional and effective mental health services to the population we serve, your scheduled and confirmed session is reserved just for you.  If you aren't present for your session and you haven't communicated with your provider about it no later than the time discussed (24hrs prior or Friday/the day before the holiday) you will be charged the entire cost of your session.

How much does Zumbini cost?

We offer Zumbini in sessions of eight 45-minute classes provided in eight consecutive weeks. Each session (eight weeks) cost $120 for the first child and $40 for each additional child with a maximum of two additional children.  Every single family that registers and pays for a Zumbini session (eight classes, 45 minutes long each class) will receive a free gift to continue to fun at home/outside of sessions.

Do I have to know how to dance or be in-shape to join the Zumbini classes?

Absolutely not! If you are "in shape" or know how to dance well, we will certainly NOT keep you from joining us (haha) however, it is not a requirement in order to participate.  Merely, it's about strengthening the bond (secured attachment style) of a small child and their primary caregiver while simultaneously the child learns necessary skills and has lots of fun!

Are you having therapy sessions in person?

We gladly offer mental health services via telehealth by utilizing HIPAA-compliant platforms as well as sessions in person in our office.  Some of our providers only offer sessions via telehealth.

What is teletherapy?

“ 'Teletherapy' is a mode of delivery of mental health services through telecommunications system, including information, electronic, and communication technologies, to facilitate the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, care management, or self-management of a person’s mental health care while the person is located at an originating site and the provider is located at a distant site. The term includes synchronous interactions and store-and-forward transfers."

How long does each therapy session take?

Sessions vary in length depending on the type of therapy provided.  Individual sessions are usually 45 minutes long; family and couple session can be up to 106 minutes.

How long will I be in therapy?

That's a great question!  It mostly depends on you and how long it takes you to reach your goals.  Some people are able to adjust to changes within six months and there might be others who might need more time to heal from a history of trauma.

What's your approach?  What should I expect?  Am I just going to talk to you the whole time?

Therapy, growth, and change do not just take place in an office/during session; in addition, mental health therapy is a science and an art.  Though therapy sessions might look as such (where the provider listens to the person(s) talk and share thoughts/feelings) sometimes, it involves more than just chatting.  We at SOBT Therapy, LLC are hands-on and interactive, we encourage the use of homework and activities that reinforce what is learned in sessions, we provide needed and useful feedback, we engage in "role play" with our clients, we "lean in", we "check in" with our clients if we find it to be helpful for our clients, etc.  We are involved WITH (not for) you the entire process.

Do you use Freudian or Jungian  techniques?

Each one of our providers is trained and experienced in (as well as employs) different models.  Please feel free to visit the "Empirically Supported Treatment and Evidence-Based Practice That Inform Our Work" section for more information.  In addition, you may ask your provider at SOBT Therapy, LLC as well as click on "Therapists and Employees" on SOBT Therapy, LLC's website.

What if I don't know who is a better fit for me?

No worries at all! We are ready to provide you with a 20-minute free phone/video consultation.  You can explore your options at that time.  Please call or email our office for more details.

You mentioned something about your role.  What does that mean?

We provide outpatient mental health services in a private practice setting.  Unfortunately, we are NOT equipped to provide emergency services nor are we available on a 24hrs/7days-a-week basis.

Who do I contact in case of an emergency or if I just want to talk to someone after hours/when my therapist is busy?

In the event of a medical or a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Do you prescribed medication?

Unfortunately, no.  At this time, SOBT Therapy, LLC does not have a provider who is trained and licensed/certified as a prescriber.  We can (and do) however, provider our established clients with a list of referrals of providers who can prescribed medication.

I'm confused about this surprise/balance billing thing.

"Beginning January 1, 2020, Colorado state law protects you* from “surprise billing,” also known as “balance billing.”

"What is surprise/balance billing, and when does it happen?

If you are seen by a health care provider or use services in a facility or agency that is not in your health insurance plan’s provider network, sometimes referred to as “out-of-network,” you may receive a bill for additional costs associated with that care. Out-of-network health care providers often bill you for the difference between what your insurer decides is the eligible charge and what the out-of-network provider bills as the total charge. This is called “surprise” or “balance” billing."

I keep hearing about something called a Good Faith Estimate.  Can you please explain what that is and how does it affect me?

-A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) shows information that includes the "costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your [mental] health care needs for an item or service."
-SOBT Therapy, LLC MUST provide you with a GFE: within one business day if your first/intake session is scheduled for three business days later or within three business days if your intake/first session is for 10 business days after it is scheduled.
-If a provider or staff member at SOBT Therapy, LLC gives you a bill that is more than $400 higher than what has been annotated in the GFE that SOBT Therapy, LLC gave you, you have the legal right to dispute the bill.
